• You have worked in the same occupation for the three years

• You have Competent English

• You have been paid at least the salary on your nomination letter

A visa on the Short-Term Skilled Occupations List (STSOL)  occupation does not lead to permanent residency.

Permanent Resident Visas - 186 | 187

There two sub-classes of visa categories, both requiring employer nomination. ?

Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS),

ENS requiring the applicant to have been nominated by a lawfully operating business in Australia. There are three streams:

- Temporary Resident Transition stream:  is available to a 457 visa holder, who has not yet turned 50 and will continue to work in the same occupation for the same sponsoring employer.

- Direct Entry stream:  is available to applicants not yet 45 and have never worked or have only worked temporarily in Australia. Employer sponsorship, and position nomination is required. you are required to have a formal skills assessment and a minimum of three years work experience in the nominated occupation.

- Labour Agreement stream:  for applicants nominated by a sponsor who is a party to a labour agreement.

Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS),

RSMS the subclass is for applicants willing to work in regional Australia. The criteria and similar to the ENS visa, however, there is more leeway as this visa program helps develop regional Australia where there are at times greater labour shortages.

These visas all require the necessary skills to complete the necessary tasks; health checks, character checks, English proficiency, right age, and have met the criteria for each subclass.

These are not points based visas.
